MontRubí is a small and bold winery in Penedès. Bold because, back in 2000 when winemakers no longer dared to produce wines using the once common Catalan grape variety, Sumoll, Josep Queralt and his team decided to do just that, to start working with it once more. Ever since the release of their first single-variety Sumoll wine, probably unique in the world, they have continued to look deeper and deeper into the features of this variety, finding new attributes with each vintage. At present, MontRubí is still the largest producer of Sumoll wines, with a rich and successful variety of styles unmatched by any other winery as can be seen by the fact that their wines are sold in over fifteen countries.
